Rights activists said that the Assad regime and its Russian ally bombed at least 14 vital civilian centers in northwestern Syria in the past 72 hours, including medical and educational facilities as well as bakeries.
The Emergency Response Coordinators Team in Syria’s northwest said that the targeted facilities included four medical facilities, two educational facilities, four civil defense centers, two bakeries, and a IDP camp.
The Team added that the Assad regime and Russian forces committed numerous war crimes and violations against civilians, without the world moving a finger or taking action to punish the perpetrators.
The Team stressed that the silence of the international community is a green light for the Assad regime and Russia to “continue to defy international law and commit more crimes against civilians.”
It called on the international community to shoulder their responsibilities and provide protection for civilians and vital civilian installations and infrastructure. It called on the parties to the Geneva Conventions to intervene immediately and urgently to put an end to the crimes against civilians. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
