Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) said that it had concluded the “Let’s Learn” project dedicated to support education for the academic year 2014 – 2015 in collaboration with the interim Ministry of Education. ACU provided the materials necessary for the continuation of the educational process in the liberated areas, including winter clothing for students, stationery, bags, and heating equipment. The program is worth $17,230,489 USD donated by the King of Saudi Arabia. It covered approximately 762 schools in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia and Hama that accommodate nearly 237.212 schoolchildren. The materials distributed to children included 237,212 bags, 219.105 winter clothing pieces, 179.865 white boards, 3.099 heating stoves, 476 tons of bio fuel and coal for use in heating. Also, 1,000 first aid kits will be distributed to students as part of the program. The program also included giving support for 8,000 teachers who received food aid worth of $456.873 USD.
