Anti-regime demonstrations swept across northern Syria in a Friday that activists dubbed ‘No Safe Environment under Assad Regime.’ The Syrian Coalition stressed that the Assad regime is the one who brought the Iranian terrorist militias to the country and allowed the ISIS extremist group to grow and fester.
Demonstrators raised signs condemning attempts by any one, especially Russia, to rehabilitate the Assad regime. They renewed their demands to overthrow the regime and regain freedom and dignity.
Rights activists who took part in the demonstrations said that the Assad regime is the one responsible for the tragedy unfolding in the country as it committed thousands of massacres against civilians. They added that Assad’s survival in power will risk perpetuating terrorism in Syria and will not restore stability to the country.
One of the signs read “Russia is good at manufacturing chemical weapons, not peace,” to refer to its role in supporting the regime.
According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, 89 percent of the casualties in Syria were caused by the Assad regime, with Russia responsible for 2.81 percent.
