The Assad regime forces and their allies continue to target populated areas in southern and western rural Idlib despite UN warnings against targeting unarmed civilians and vital centers.
Bombardment by the Russian aircraft and regime helicopters killed seven people and wounded six others in the town of Kfarouma in southern rural Idlib on Sunday. The bombardment targeted more than 13 areas in Idlib and its countryside.
Activists said that the victims included two children and a woman as well as the media activist Abdul Hamid Al-Yousef. Many civilians were also inquired as a result of airstrikes that hit the towns of Kafranbel, Kinsafra, Altih, Tahtaya, Umm Jalal, Hish and Sheikh Damis, Jbala, and al-Kanaies.
Activists added that the civil defense teams were not able to help all the victims in Kafarouma because of the artillery shelling that followed the airstrikes.
Rocket and artillery shelling also pummeled the towns of Ma’rzita, Parisa, Haas, Ma’rat Harmah, Mushairafa, Sheikh Mustafa, and Fatira.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense, Russian jets and regime helicopters targeted at least 14 locations in Idlib province with 23 airstrikes, 90 artillery shells, five heavy rockets, and 35 rockets fired from launchers. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
