The Assad regime’s air force on Friday bombed positions of the Free Syrian Army groups battling the ISIS extremist group in Jabal Dakwa hills in the eastern Qalamoun area northeast of Damascus, a commander in the Ussud Alsharqiya FSA group said.
Activists published a video showing Assad’s jets striking FSA positions in Jabal Dakwa hills in the early morning hours of Friday.
Clashes have continued to rage between the FSA groups and ISIS militants in the area since FSA groups launched an offensive on ISIS positions on March 18.
The FSA groups have driven ISIS militants out of many positions in eastern Qalamoun, including Tees, Sees, Makhoul, Sabaa Biyar, Zaza, Tal Makhoul hill, and Sad Risha. They have also captured strategic positions in Jabal al-Afaie hills after violent clashes with ISIS militants. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department + Agencies)
