A number of associations and organizations concerned with the welfare of orphans organized a ceremony in Ortman Hotel in Kilis, Turkey. The ceremony included displaying a short film on the suffering of the Syrian children and some sketches by Syrian orphans. The ceremony also included an exhibition of children’s drawings that reflect the plight of Syrian children. One hundred orphans and a number of mothers were honored, while some organizations concerned with the welfare of orphans pledged to foster a number of children and to provide material support to them until they reach adulthood. Other organization also pledged to provide schooling through the establishment of a school for Syrian orphans in Kilis, Turkey. Taghreed Al Hajli, Minister of Culture in the Syrian interim government, presented a symbolic gift for the sponsors of the ceremony. She also paid an inspection visit to rehabilitation centers in Kilis and was briefed about their needs and the importance of supporting the psychological counseling centers. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
