Dozens of civilians and activists demonstrated in Dara’a on Friday to express their rejection of attempts by the Assad regime and Iranian terrorist groups to recapture the region. The Syrian Coalition said that “neither the Russian occupation nor the Iranian will be able to break the will of the Syrian people in their struggle against occupation and tyranny. It also said that the Syrian people would eventually achieve all the goals they revolted for.
Smart News Network said that demonstrations took place in the town of Sahwa and the district of Shayyah in Dara’a. Demonstrators held placards reaffirming they will continue with the revolution and demanding the overthrow of the regime. They also chanted slogans condemning the Assad regime and its allied Iranian militias.
The placards read: ‘We are a people who do not give up, we win or die,’ ‘we prefer death to humiliation,’ and ‘we will not give up Dara’a.’
The Syrian Coalition stressed that Russia will bear full responsibility for any possible escalation in southern Syria, adding that the Assad regime is seeking military escalation in the south under orders from Iran. It said that the Assad regime has become a mere front for the Iranian occupation of Syria.
The Coalition called on major countries, the friendly countries, and sponsors of the political solution to shoulder their responsibilities towards the Syrian people and work to restore the political process back on track. “Action needs to be taken to ensure an end to killings and crimes, the release the detainees, and the achievement of a political transition in accordance with international resolutions and the Geneva Communique of 2012.” (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
