Demonstrations in Rural Aleppo & Idlib to Pretest against Regime’s Assault on ‘De-escalation Zone’

Dozens of the local residents and IDPs on Friday gathered in towns and villages in rural Aleppo and Idlib to condemn the bombing campaign the Assad regime and Russian forces have launched in the ‘de-escalation zone’ in northwestern Syria since last April.

Local activists reported that dozens of people gathered outside Fatima al-Zahra Mosque in in the town of al-Bab in rural Aleppo to condemn the regime's shelling of towns in villages in Idlib and rural Hama.

Dozens of people demonstrated in the towns of Sajou and Kaljabrin in northern rural Aleppo and condemned the ferocious bombing campaign against the liberated areas and the international silence about the massacres taking place against civilians.

The demonstrators reaffirmed their support for the Free Syrian Army. They held signs that read “the FSA protects our land and honor,” and “open your homes for our brethren being displaced from Idlib,” and we will carry on with the revolution,” and “the Idlib battle is the battle of all rebels,”. They also held signs that reiterated the demands for the overthrow of the regime.

Dozens of residents of the city of Idlib held a demonstration in the city’s main square as they waved the flag of the revolution.

The Assad regime and Russian forces have launched a ruthless aerial and ground bombing campaign in northwestern Syria since late April, forcing hundreds of thousands of civilians from their villages and towns as well as killing and wounding hundreds of civilians and destroying houses, hospitals and schools.
