Interim Minister of Education Muhiuddin Binanah met with Fatma Sahin, mayor of Gaziantep, and the Director of Education in the city. The meeting discussed ways to improve the services provided to the Syrians in Gaziantep. Binanah profusely thanked the Turkish government for the hospitality offered to Syrians who have fled the regime’s bombardment and its ongoing wholesale crimes. “We wholeheartedly appreciate your generosity and your opening of the doors for the Syrian people very early in the conflict. We are also grateful for your opening your schools and universities for our students to complete their education, especially your decision to recognize the high school certificate issued by the interim Ministry of Education,” Binanah said. Shahin delivered a speech in which she reaffirmed Turkey’s hospitality to the Syrian people as Muslims who need support and assistance, and stressed that Turkey would not fail to stand by them. The meeting was also attended by a number of local Turkish officials, the Director General of the Bulbul Zadeh Association, interim Minister of Local Administration Othman Bedaiwi and officials of the Syrian Coalition’s representation in Gaziantep.
