Ahmad Tomeh, Interim Prime Minister, met with Qatari Foreign Minister Khalid al-Attiyah in the Qatari capital Doha yesterday, and discussed the latest developments in Syrian arena and ways to support the Syrian people. Al-Attiyah reaffirmed his country’s support for the Syrian people in their just cause. He also stated that Qatar repeatedly called for the international community and the UN Security Council to take serious steps to stop the massacres committed by the Assad regime against the Syrian people, pointing out that Qatar is still looking for alternative ways under the umbrella of the United Nations to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people. Interim PM Tomeh thanked the state of Qatar for their “noble attitudes and their generous support for the Syrian people. Tomeh also met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Doha. President Abbas briefed the delegation of the Syrian interim government on the latest developments of the Palestinian file, especially the stalled settlement process, and the Palestinian national reconciliation.
