The Revolution Command Council said that regime forces set on fire a historic century-old forest west of Moadamiyah district near Damascus, in a blatant violation of the so-called truce. Activists said that regime forces aim to uncover the supply routes used by rebels in the district . The Council calls on the United Nations and rights organizations to hold the Assad regime accountable for these violations. The Council also said that Assad’s forces have recently stepped up its military campaign on Dariya west of Damascus, pounding the district with barrel bombs filled with chlorine gas as well as with cluster bombs, rockets, artillery and mortar shells.
