Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG) Jawad Abu Hatab on Wednesday visited the new branch of Aleppo Free University and the center for the reception of applications in northern rural Aleppo.
Abu Hatab and the accompanying delegation were briefed about the difficulties and challenges facing the university and discussed ways to solve them. He reviewed the application process, the number of applications submitted to the university compared to the number of students, and the way in which applications are filled by the fresh students.
SIG, the local council in the town of Azaz and the relevant bodies agreed to ready the center for the reception of application within two weeks ahead of the new academic year. The visit to the university is part of a series of field visits by SIG’s head to government facilities and service institutions in the liberated areas.
On August 17, Abu Hatab met with representatives of civil, economic and military bodies in the town of Azaz and the surrounding villages. He also visited the local councils in the towns of Kufra, Ihtemlat and Marea.
In the August visit, Abu Hatab and SIG officials examined several places to establish a branch of the University of Aleppo in northeastern rural Aleppo. The move aims to serve students and ease the burden on them. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
