The Assad regime and Russian forces resumed their deadly attacks in rural Idlib as violent regime airstrikes on Thursday hit a vegetable market in the village of al-Janoudiya in northwestern rural Idlib, killing six civilians and wounding 16 others.
Two other people, one of them a child, were injured in Russian airstrikes that hit the town of Kafranbel in southern rural Idlib.
Local activists said that the regime forces positioned in northern rural Lattakia shelled the village of al-Janoudiya and the outskirts of the town of Bdama with heavy artillery.
The Assad regime and Russian jets bombed at least 16 towns and villages in rural Idlib, with local activists counting no fewer than 16 airstrikes, 151 artillery shells, and 19 rockets that hit these towns and villages.
The deadly attack on al-Janoudiya came after a period of relative calm that was preceded by a ruthless bombing campaign in which the Assad regime and Russia committed numerous war crimes and multiple massacres against civilians. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
