The Civil Defense corpse in the Damascus suburb of eastern Ghouta on Friday called on all people around the world to hold demonstrations to put pressure on their governments to work on putting an end to the brutal bombing campaign on the Damascus suburb of eastern Ghouta.
A spokesman for the civil defense urged Syrians abroad as well as the Arab and Western peoples to hold large demonstrations to convey the voices of the people of eastern Ghouta to the Western governments and pressure them to take action.
Civil defense volunteers in the town of Rastan in northern rural Homs held a sit-in in solidarity with eastern Ghouta. Participants held signs that read “the people of eastern Ghouta are dying of bombardment and starvation” and “the siege is a crime punishable by all international laws” and “eastern Ghouta is appealing to you for help.”
Civil defense workers in the villages of southern rural Aleppo also held a sit-in in solidarity with eastern Ghouta and to denounce the massacres and destruction taking place in the Damascus suburb. Similar protests were also held in the city of Idlib and the Jabal al-Zawiya region with protestors calling on the international community to take action in order to save the people from killings and siege.
In Rural Hama, civil defense workers held a demonstration in the towns of Morek and Qustoun to show solidarity with the people of eastern Ghouta. Protestors held signs that read “save eastern Ghouta” and “I am a Syrian and my heart is burning for eastern Ghouta.” They condemned the scorched earth policy being employed by the Assad regime and Russian forces against civilians.
On the seventh anniversary of the start of the Syrian revolution, hundreds of Syrians took to the streets of many towns and villages in the liberated areas to demonstrate solidarity with civilians trapped in eastern Ghouta.
Over 100 civilians were killed and injured in the ferocious aerial bombardment by the Russian and Assad regime forces on eastern Ghouta on Friday. The Damascus suburb has been subjected to brutal onslaught for the past three weeks. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department + Smart News Network)
