President of the Syrian Coalition, Anas al-Abda, sent a letter to British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Dominic Raab, to thank him for his country’s support for the Syrian people and their revolution for freedom and dignity.
President al-Abda expressed his “highest appreciation for the efforts exerted by the United Kingdom government and people who warmly welcomed the Syrian refugees fleeing the crimes committed by the Assad regime and its terrorist militias.”
President al-Abda underlined the critical importance of the United Kingdom and other major actors to put an end to the ongoing killings and terrorism against the Syrian people through the establishment of ceasefire and reaching a political solution in accordance with the UN resolutions, which will enable Syrian refugees to return to their homeland.
Moreover, President al-Abda pointed to the importance of assisting Syrian civilians through the Coalition’s official institutions, namely the Syrian Interim Government and the Assistance Coordination Unit as key to supporting the resilience of the Syrian people.
President al-Abda pointed out that the Syrian revolution is going through a critical stage, adding that the Syrian people need support in order to enable them overcome the dire circumstances they are going through and build a state that is based on freedom, justice and good governance.
