President of the Syrian National Coalition, Anas Abdah, and head of the Syrian Interim Government, Abdurrahman Mustafa, visited a newly established IDP camp in the Sharran sub-district of Afrin to check on the conditions of its residents.
President Abdah listened to what happened with the camp’s residents, the immense suffering they endured while escaping the bombings by Russia and the Assad regime, and the extremely dire conditions in which they are living. He also listened to their basic needs.
The camp is home to 80 households who have been recently displaced from the Idlib province which has been subjected to a brutal assault by Russia and the Assad regime forces for several months.
The Coalition and SIG provided direct support to secure water, electricity, and bread for the camp residents as they promised to communicate with donors to ensure that the rest of their needs are met as soon as possible.
President Abdah talked about the international campaign the Coalition has recently launched to mobilize support for Idlib and ratchet up pressure on Russia to stop its military operations; agree to a ceasefire; and return to the political process aimed at the implementation of international resolutions and meeting the goals of the revolution for freedom and dignity.
Moreover, President Abdah made it clear that the Coalition gives high priority to the issue of the displaced people and refugees as it always raises this issue in the various international conferences and forums. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
