The Syrian National Coalition’s Department of Foreign Relations held its periodic meeting and discussed the latest political and on the ground developments.
Participants discussed the mechanisms for implementing the Department’s work plan for the first quarter of 2020. The plan will focus on strengthening relations with friendly and sisterly countries with the aim of mobilizing support the Syrian people’s revolution and their legitimate rights to freedom and democracy as well as reaching a political solution in accordance with UN resolutions, most notably the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN resolution 2254.
The plan included the holding of more meetings and visits to the foreign missions and ambassadors of friendly and sisterly countries to highlight the grave situation in Idlib and stress the need to alleviate the humanitarian disaster resulting from the bombing and the mass displacement of civilians.
The Departments touched on the tasks of the Coalition’s foreign missions in the European Union and the Arab countries and their future work plan. It stressed the need to activate the work of these missions and hold various meetings with the official and popular bodies in those countries so as to establish the best relations that serve the common interests.
