Coordinator of the Syrian National Coalition’s Office of the Syrian Communities Abroad, Mohammad Yahya Maktabi, met with representatives of the Network for the Protection of Women in the Turkish city of Hatay and discussed with them the need to empower Syrian women and enabling them to engage in all aspects of life and assume their role in the political work.
Both sides stressed the important role of women in the Syrian revolution and in their work along with the various Syrian communities to mobilize international support for the cause of the Syrian people and their struggle against tyranny.
Maktabi gave a detailed explanation of the latest developments in the political process and the progress in the work of the Constitutional Committee.
The discussions also touched on the work of the Syrian communities in the various Turkish cities and the rest of the world. Maktabi commended the contribution of Syrian women to the various activities shedding light on the Syrian people, their history and culture, and their just cause to regain their rights and dignity and to topple the Assad regime.
The Network for the Protection of Women is one of the largest conglomerations in the Syrian Revolution as it comprises more than 1,000 women and about 56 women’s organizations. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
