Students of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at the Free University of Aleppo launched an awareness-raising campaign as part of the precautionary measures being taken by the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) and Syrian Interim Government (SIG) to prevent an outbreak of the coronavirus in the freed territories.
Students made house-to-house visits and toured the IDP camps in and around the town of Al-Bab in Aleppo province, distributing leaflets and other publications on methods of prevention, the symptoms of the coronavirus, and how to safely transport the suspected cases to the hospital.
The students called for complying with the preventive steps to avoid the spread of the virus, most notably personal hygiene, sterilization, and commitment to social distancing.
Organizers of the campaign also included the Assistance Coordination Unit, provincial councils, and organizations working in the health sector, as well as the free police force and the Syrian National Army.
The students had earlier taken a training course held by the Faculty of Medicine at the Free University of Aleppo on methods of prevention from the coronavirus pandemic. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
