Badr Aldin Jamous, Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, condemns the “horrible crime committed by ISIS fighters against 50 people, including military personnel, journalists and activists.” Jamous points out that “silencing activists, suppressing freedoms, and stripping people of human dignity have been among the practices this terrorist group has used. Just like the Assad regime, ISIS is violating basic human rights, denying people freedom of expression, and carrying out summary executions. We ask God to have mercy upon the fallen heroes, and to bring freedom to those who remain detained by ISIS and by the Assad regime.” Furthermore, Jamous said: “We call upon those who have joined or allied with the terrorist group to abandon it and join the ranks of the revolution. We should not forget, however, that the Assad regime is the very source of terrorism in the region. It has facilitated the entry of militias from Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon to slaughter the men, women, and children of Syria. We urge the Free Syrian Army to close ranks in their attempt to defend the Syrian people and rid Syria of a terrorist tyrannical regime.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
