Syrian Coalition Condemns Regime's Use of Toxic Gas in Harasta, Damascus

Khalid Saleh, head of the Media Office, warns against "turning a blind eye to a possible use of chemical weapons on a larger scale by the Assad regime, as we all remember the 14 instances of chemical weapons attacks on a smaller scale which took place before a much larger use happened on August the 21st, 2013. We condemn in the strongest possible terms the continued abhorrent practices by the Assad regime against defenseless civilians in Syria. Yesterday, Assad’s forces used poison gas and highly concentrated pesticides in Harasta, rural Damascus, killing at least 3 civilians and injuring more than 25." Saleh also said that the world failed time and again to take a firm stance to restraint Assad, who after dragging his feet over handing over chemical weapons, is now testing the limits of the international community’s tolerance. The Assad regime used poisonous gas several times in Eastern Ghouta, in the past couple of months." (Source: Syrian Coalition)
