A delegation of the Syrian National Coalition, headed by President Anas Al-Abda participated in the fifth annual conference of the Syrian Turkoman Council which was held in the town of Al-Raie in rural Aleppo.
Participants in the conference included Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kıran, Head of the Syrian Negotiations Commission, Nasr Al-Hariri, Head of the Syrian Interim Government, Abdurrahman Mustafa, and senior commanders of the Syrian National Army.
President Al-Abda stressed the importance of the conference, commending the role of Syria’s Turkoman along with other components in supporting the Syrian revolution from the outset and in supporting its rightful demands in the face of the despotic regime.
President Al-Abda stressed the need to build a system of rule that is based on equal citizenship and one that allows all Syria’s social components to express themselves in a pluralistic, free, and civilized environment.
For his part, SIG’s Head Abdurrahman Mustafa pointed out that like the rest of the Syrian people, the Turkomans of Syria have been subjected to decades-long deprivation of liberties, injustice, and oppression by the murderous regime. He added that Syria’s Turkomans have joined the Syrian revolution from the outset and formed a revolutionary umbrella body to represent them politically and convey their voices to local, regional, and international forums as well as to demand their civil and constitutional rights.
