The Political Committee discussed plans to ensure the safety of civilians, to restore basic services and provide relief aid to residents of the recently liberated city of Idlib. It also discussed a roadmap for the unification of the opposition attitudes towards a political solution through continued intra-opposition consultative meetings and resuming the discussion of the document of basic principles for a political settlement in Syria.
The meeting also touched on the status of the Syrian community in Yemen and how to secure a safe exit for them and on the results of the second Moscow meeting which ended two days ago.
Member of the Political Committee Hadi al-Bahra said that the action plan for Idlib aims to protect the city and its people from the Assad regime’s escalated aerial bombing and barrel bomb attacks through reaching out to international organizations and the main actors in the region.
Bahra stated that the meeting also discussed the necessary steps needed to reactivate the state service institutions, stressing the need for continuous communications with all social actors, civil society and rebel battalions to ensure the achievement of this plan. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
