Ahmad Jarba, president of the Syrian Coalition, said that the Free Syrian Army and its Supreme Military Council (SMC) will form the nucleus of the national army which will formed in the coming months. “We will the most of the FSA’s experience in battling regime forces,” Jarba said during a meeting with the SMC commanders. Jarba also briefed the SMC on the the results of the talks he held with officials in Washington, Paris and London and some countries in the region. The SMC staff put Jarba in view of the situation on the ground and the difficulties faced by the FSA fighters in the battles against the Assad regime and ISIS. They also stressed that they spared no efforts in battling the Assad regime and his allies over more than a year and a half of assuming their tasks in the SMC, pointing out that they would give way to other officers to take the lead and that they will remain loyal soldiers in the service of the revolution. Jarba also met with the U.S envoy to the UN Security Council Samantha Power in the city of Gaziantep, Turkey. They discussed ways to support the Syrian people in neighboring countries and the possibility of setting up refugee camps inside Syria.
