The Council of the Syrian Community in Romania checked on the conditions of the Syrian refugees in Romania and provided them with material and medical support amid the crisis the world is facing as a result of the spread of the coronavirus.
The Council worked on studying the situation of Syrian households and classifying the most vulnerable groups. It provided them with direct support from the Community’s Financial Fund and from donations of some Syrian businessmen.
The Council also provided households with medical supplies that are unavailable in the markets, such as masks and gloves.
The Council translated most of the decisions and instructions issued by the Romanian government about the coronavirus into Arabic and circulated them to the Syrian community through the media and social media. It urged the Syrian community to adhere to health instructions and decisions.
The Council began studying the situation of Syrian refugees as well as the possibility of expanding aid and the collection of donations in the period to come. It also began cooperating with Arab and Islamic institutions and communities to secure the necessary needs for the Syrian community in Romania. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
