The Syrian Embassy in the State of Qatar participated in a traditional handicrafts exhibition, showcasing an array of handicraft items from the ancient Syrian heritage, including ceramics, mosaics, paintings on crystal, threads and shells.
Arab and Islamic countries participated in the exhibition, with the Syrian pavilion receiving a large number of visitors. The Syrian ambassador to Qatar, Nizar Al-Haraki, said that the Syrian participation was extinguished as visitors expressed their admiration for the Syrian handicraft skills which reflect the rich history of the Syrian people.
Al-Haraki stressed the importance of preserving the ancient and important Syrian heritage and exploiting all opportunities to present it to the world. He pointed out that this heritage forms the basis of the Syrian identity that the Syrian people share, adding that the Assad regime has sought to tamper with the Syrian heritage and obliterate its diversity.
