The Syrian National Olympic Committee held seminar to demonstrate its work and role in reviving the Syrian sport in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Committee, Ahmed Al-Ali, Deputy Head of the Committee, Mudar Al-Asaad, and members of the offices and a group of sports officials.
Participants in the seminar reviewed the reality of the Syrian sports, especially the embattled sports facilities which suffered severe damage as a result of the shelling by the Assad regime’s forces and their allied militias.
They stressed the importance of continuing the activities being carried out by the free Syrian athletes to lift high their names and the name of Syria and the revolution in the Arab and international forums.
They also discussed ways to activate the work of the Committee and enable it to build sports facilities and playgrounds across the liberated areas as well as to repair the damaged ones. They also discussed the launch of tournaments and activities in the various sports activities.
At the end of the seminar, certificates were awarded to graduates who took the ‘refereeing in football’ course. Twelve participants passed the theoretical and practical tests at the end of the course, which is the first in a series of courses to qualify the sports and administrative staff.
