Ahmad Tomah, the head of the interim government, announced that his government started its work to serve the Syrian people to improve living conditions. Tomah considered that “the difficult circumstances will not deter or frustrate the government,” and that the new government will rely “on the Syrian people and the aid promised by Arab and friendly countries.” Tomah also stated that “the decision to form the Syrian government is completely a Syrian decision, and that the interim government will not constitute an obstacle to Geneva II, but it will put themselves under the transitional government which will be formed after reaching a political solution.” He added that “the interim government is the authority that oversees the implementation of the Syrian Coalition’s policies.” In response to the PYD’s declaration of forming a transitional administration in northeastern Syria, Tomah stated that “we are honored by the marriage of the Kurdish National Council and the Syrian National coalition,” stressing that the interim government “will not make contacts with the hardline Kurdish militant group that seeks to establish an autonomy” that violates the principles of the revolution and the full integrity of Syrian territory.
