A number of world capitals saw demonstrations to protest the Russian aggression on Syria, denouncing the Russian air raids that kill civilians under the pretext of combating terrorism. Demonstrators held placards and chanted slogans against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad.
A protest was staged outside the Russian Consulate in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Friday to condemn the air raids, calling for ending the aggression and the departure of Assad.
Also, people from various Arab nationalities gathered in front of the Russian Embassy in Brussels to protest against Russian military aggression in Syria. The protesters raised the flag of the Syrian Revolution flags and chanted slogans condemning the Russian aggression on Syria.
The demonstrators submitted a letter to the Russian embassy officials in Brussels saying: “Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Republic, history tells that all occupiers were eventually shamefully expelled no matter how many crimes they commit against the people. You Russians have taken the wrong path in Syria, where the young and the elderly will fight you. You will not see calm in Syria, and justice says you must help the Syrian people against his the murderous Assad regime and its Iranian ally.”
Hundreds of people also protested yesterday in the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon, chanting slogans denouncing the Russian military aggression in Syria, amid tight security measures by the Lebanese army and security forces.
The Syrian Coalition has previously appealed to Syrians, Arabs and the free world to raise their voice high and protest in front of the Russian embassies of against its aggression on the Syrian people.
Secretary-General Mohammed Yahya Maktabi said that Syrian Revolution turned from a revolution against an authoritarian regime to the national liberation movement against the Russian and Iranian invasion of Syria.
“Today Syrians are facing multi-faceted invasion and terrorism; the Russian-Iranian invasion and the terrorism practiced by the Hezbollah militia, ISIS and other sectarian foreign militias.”
He stresses that every Syrian has a great responsibility to face the hard circumstances Syria is going through, praising the Syrian rebels who are countering the invaders. “Though outnumbered and under-equipped, the faith Syrian rebels have in their cause is matchless and is enough to provide with the courage and determination till the liberation of all Syrian territory.” (Source: Syrian Coalition + Anadolu)
