The Assad regime aircrafts bombed villages near the Haqqaf area in eastern rural Suwaidaa’ on Sunday, July 2, killing 16 people and injuring dozens more, including women. Meanwhile, intense bombing using barrel bombs and Russian airstrikes targeted the nearby Tal Asfar area.
The Syrian Coalition condemns these crimes and terrorist attacks, which constitute a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, the “de-escalation zones” agreement, and the UN Security Council resolutions 2268 and 2254.
The Coalition reiterates condemnation of the continued failure to force the Assad regime and its allies to abide by these agreements. It also condemns the violations and crimes being committed by the Russian occupation forces and their continued bombing and the provision of air support for regime forces in violation of international agreements and resolutions.
The Coalition calls on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards these crimes and the repeated use of barrel bombs, incendiary napalm, and other internationally prohibited weapons.
