Our sons and daughters, the great Syrian people,
The grandchildren of Kawa,
On March 21, the Kurdish people everywhere celebrate their national holiday Newroz. The celebration of this day comes a few days after the Syrian revolution entered its seventh year. Newroz primarily symbolizes freedom and salvation from injustice and oppression.
Our great Syrian people, including grandchildren of Kawa the Blacksmith, have been showing legendary courage battling the Assad regime all across Syria and have made immense sacrifices to regain freedom and get rid of tyranny. Inspired by the hero Kawa, who defeated Zahak, the symbol of injustice and oppression, the Syrian people will eventually defeat the Zahak of our modern era, namely the terrorist Bashar Al-Assad.
On this glorious occasion, the Syrian Coalition, on behalf of the Syrian people, expresses its warmest wishes and congratulations to the Syrian people, particularly the Kurdish community. The rays of freedom that Kawa sparked will one day rise all over Syria marking the end of tyranny and the establishment a democratic, civil, pluralistic state that tolerates national diversity and recognizes the legitimate rights of Syrian Kurds in line with international conventions.
