Secretary-General of the Syrian National Coalition, Abdulbaseet Abdullatief, and members of the political committee visited the Turkish city of Hatay where they met with the Syrian community and listened to their basic needs.
Abdullatief said that the Coalition will continue to meet Syrian communities in all regions and countries on a regular basis. He stressed the need for continued communication and unity in these circumstances and highlight the determination of the Syrian people to overcome hardships and achieve their goals, namely of overthrowing the Assad regime and regaining freedom and dignity.
Abdullatief gave an overview on the Coalition’s international efforts to ensure an end to military operations in northwestern Syria. He emphasized that the Syrian people’s main battle today is against Russia which is committing massacres against civilians on a daily basis, attacking hospitals and other vital civilian centers, and preventing any breakthrough in the political process. The Assad regime, meanwhile, has become a mere militia that is involved in an aggression against the Syrian people along with other foreign militias.
He pointed out that the Coalition is working closely with the United Nations and international donors to provide relief and humanitarian support to the internally displaced people. He added that although some aid agencies have responded and increased the number of aid trucks, the aid still falls short of meeting the growing needs of the IDP in northwestern Syria.
