President of the Syrian National Coalition, Anas Al Abda, met with Abdellah El-Bakkali, president of the National Union of the Moroccan Press (SNPM) at the headquarters of Al-Alam newspaper in the Moroccan capital Rabat on Monday.
The two sides discussed the latest political developments and the security situation in Syria as well as the role of the Syrian journalists in conveying the reality of what is happening on the ground to the outside world.
President Al-Abda talked in detail about the Assad regime’s crackdown on journalists, calling on SNPM, which occupies a leading position in the International Federation of Journalists, to support the Syrian revolution and to help expose the regime and its allies’ horrible crimes against the Syrian people. The Coalition delegation included Vice-president, Oqab Yahya, and member of the political committee Ahmed Ramadan.
El-Bakkali expressed his understanding of the dire situation of Syrian journalists, calling on his guests to exert more efforts not only to expose the reality of the genocide against the Syrian people, but also to work with the relevant international institutions to provide a comprehensive and realistic picture of what the Syrian people are being subjected to both in the regime-held areas an in the liberated areas.
El-Bakkali said that the Moroccan journalists stood ready to cooperate with Syrian journalists in order to contribute to exposing the truth to the outside world. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
