Ruba Habboush

Habboush worked in the Syrian state television from 2004 until late 2011 as a host of many cultural, social, humanitarian, and economic programs.

She worked as a volunteer with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent before the revolution, undertaking volunteer work to help the Lebanese and Iraqi refugees in Syria.

Habboush participated in the anti-regime demonstrations and peaceful movement in Idlib.

In early 2012, Habboush fled with her family from Syria after her brother defected from the Assad regime's army to join the Free Syrian Army.

Habboush worked for ANB TV Channel as a news anchor and host of political programs for a year.

She then joined Al-Sharqiya TV Channel and hosted a program addressing all Syrian affairs at the political and social levels.

While in Jordan, Habboush participated in many revolutionary events and activities that were organized by Syrian humanitarian organizations as well as participated in media coverage of the Syrian Revolution.

In early 2015, she moved to Turkey and worked as a news anchor in the Iraqi Fallujah TV channel and as a host of political programs dealing with Arab and international affairs.

Habboush joined the Syrian Coalition in 2016 and participated in workshops and training courses with various bodies on various topics, especially with regard to women's rights.

She participated in many official visits and meetings the Syrian Coalition held in European countries.

She participated in the Geneva talks as a media adviser to the Higher Negotiations Committee.

Habboush also participated in the Conference of Leaders of Arab Feminism in Jordan.

She was elected to the Syrian Negotiations Commission during the Riyadh II Conference.

Habboush also participated in many official meetings and visits in addition to participating in the 8th and 9th rounds of the Geneva negotiations.
