Ahmad Baccora, born in Damascus in 1984, serves in the political leadership of the Syrian National Coalition and acts as the coordinator of its Refugee and Displaced Persons Working Group. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations. He is presently advancing his education with a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at the Social Sciences University of Ankara. Additionally, Baccora’s diverse academic background includes studies in computer science engineering in Damascus, albeit incomplete.
His expertise and interests span scientific research, communications management, strategic partnerships, and facilitating public activities. Baccora has developed a significant skill set in forging and nurturing strategic relationships with government officials, international organizations, and stakeholders in civil society. Through his career, he has gained substantial experience in humanitarian diplomacy and conflict resolution, contributing to various initiatives aimed at addressing Syrian and regional issues, with a particular focus on peace efforts and the welfare of refugees and displaced individuals.

Baccora’s professional trajectory includes holding pivotal roles in several organizations, including the International Commission for Refugees (ICR), Strategy Studies Center for Humanitarian Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution, and the Syrian-Turkish Joint Commission for Refugee Affairs. He has served as the President of the Rashd Foundation for Civilizational Development, the CEO of the International Organization for Humanitarian Response, and the co-founder and Communications Director for the Sham Investment Group, occasionally holding these positions simultaneously.

Politically, Mr. Baccora is a member of the Syrian National Coalition for the Forces of Revolution and Opposition, actively participating as a member of the Political Committee, and is also involved in the Elections Basket of the High Negotiations Committee (SNC). Originating from a Damascene family with a commercial heritage, he is married and the father of five children. Baccora is a native Arabic speaker with proficiency in English.
