The Lebanese Future Movement stressed that the Hezbollah militia does not have the legitimacy to intervene in Syria and participate in battles in which Syrian civilians are being killed. It said that Hezbollah’s intervention in Syria serves Tehran and the Assad regime.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Movement said it will not recognize any national legitimacy to the participation of Hezbollah in the Syrian war, no matter the extent of written and televised threats Hezbollah is making against those who object to its policies.
The Future Movement renewed its objection to interfere in the internal affairs of the Arab countries and dragging Lebanon to the Assad regime’s war against civilians.
Moreover, the Movement stressed it deeply regrets the death of many Lebanese youth in wars that only serve the Iranian and Assad regimes.
The Movement reaffirmed its principled position, which it said shall never back from, stressing that the Lebanese army and security forces are the only forces with legitimacy to defend Lebanon and the Lebanese people as well as protect the borders of the country.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Coalition stressed that the Hezbollah militias violated all international and Lebanese norms and conventions by killing Syrians in their home country alongside the Assad regime over the past years.
The Coalition warned the Lebanese army not to fall into the trap set by the armed groups and by Hezbollah’s reckless policy towards Syria.
The Syrian and Lebanese peoples must stand unified and hand in hand to put an end to Hezbollah’s terrorist practices that plagued the region under the supervision of Assad and his clique, the Coalition said. It warned that these practices will have dire consequences not only to Syria but also on the entire region. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
