The Syrian Coalition condemns the criminal attack that was carried out by the ISIS extremist group targeting civilians in Swaida on Wednesday (25 July). The attack involved a series of bombings and shootings, leaving dozens of people killed and wounded.
The Coalition emphasizes the responsibility of the Assad regime’s forces for enabling ISIS to carry out such criminal operations in view of the ability of the attackers to travel long distances and bypass several regime checkpoints to reach Swaida and commit this horrific crime. The Assad regime is also to blame for this attack given its primary role in enabling ISIS to grow and fester and allowing it to commit crimes against the Syrian people.
The Coalition renews its condemnation of all forms of terrorism as it reaffirms its rejection of making a distinction between the terrorism of the Assad regime and that of extremist, racist and sectarian groups. We also underscore the need to fight terrorism and rid Syria of it.
The Coalition offers its condolences to the families of the victims as it wishes the wounded speedy recovery. Those responsible for this crime and all crimes committed in Syria as well as those who aided and abetted the criminals will ultimately face justice for their actions.
