The Syrian Coalition has reversed a decision to form a Syrian Olympic Committee. The reversal of the decision came after a reconsideration of the Syrian Coalition’s bylaws and their relevant amendments.
The Coalition’s General Assembly on Wednesday said the reason for reversing the decision was to ensure a united image of Syrian sport and not to divide athletes competing in regional and international events and tournaments.
The General Assembly said that it will seek to hold a conference bringing together all Syrian athletes and sports bodies in order to lay the groundwork for the establishment of an executive office and an Olympic Committee that are inclusive and broadly recognized. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
