The terrorist bombing that targeted the town of Afrin in northern rural Aleppo on Monday killed 11 people, one of whom was a doctor, and injured dozen others.
This heinous crime, which took place in a residential area, came only a few hours after a vehicle belonging to the Turkish Red Crescent came under attack, killing a volunteer. This attack also followed a series of similar attacks that represent desperate attempts to spread chaos and promote violence and death: the modus operandi of terrorists groups.
We stand in solidarity with the families who lost their loved ones as we reaffirm that we will continue to hunt down whoever stands behind this attack and all attacks targeting civilians. We offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the noble Turkish fallen hero from the Turkish Red Crescent who volunteered to help the Syrian people and who lost his life on Syria’s soil.
The Syrian people, the Syrian National Army, and all forces of freedom and justice will continue the fight against terrorism and terrorist organizations that terrorize civilians; intentionally and systematically target civil defense teams, medical workers, schools, mosques and other public facilities; and practice kidnapping, torture, and mass forced displacement.
The Syrian Opposition Coalition once again calls for a firm international stance towards terrorism, its sponsors, and those who invest in it as it warns of the dangers of these terrorist acts, which we deal with very seriously. We reaffirm the need to support the SNA and the institutions of the Syrian Interim Government in order to tighten the noose on these organizations and those behind them as well as cut off their sources of funding; ensure that they are dismantled; and eliminate the threats they pose.
