The latest remarks made by the US envoy to Syria James Jeffrey’s about the PKK terrorist group are positive step that has long been anticipated.
Millions of Syrians are anticipating the actuation of these positions and the stepping up of efforts to put an end to the presence of terrorist groups in the areas east of the Euphrates River and to the hijacking of the fate of the Syrian people in these areas.
We will continue to fulfill our duties and assume our responsibilities in the region east of the Euphrates as we will continue to fight terrorist organizations. Meanwhile, we welcome international efforts in support of this project and the efforts to expedite its success.
We stand ready to cooperate with whoever fights terrorism; seeks to deny it support at its sources; and seeks to force all terrorist elements from Syria.
Whoever dissociates itself from the PKK terrorist organization, terrorism, separatist ideologies and agendas, and demonstrates commitment to the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Syrian people is effectively taking a step on the right path. This will also help open a new chapter that enables us to unite all the Syrian people in their struggle for freedom.
We reiterate our support for all efforts to confront cross-border terrorist organizations that seek to undermine the unity of Syria and divide our country. We will continue to work to dismantle these organizations and eliminate the threats they pose to the Syrian people, while working to guarantee the rights and freedoms of all Syrians.
