The city of Dara’a and its countryside are being subjected to an escalating military campaign that included relentless aerial bombardment by the air forces of the Assad regime and the Russian occupation forces. Missiles, barrel bombs, and napalm are being used in the bombardment which left at least 12 civilians killed and dozens more injured in the town of Tafas on Monday. The bombardment also left an increasing number of civilian casualties in the Dara’a camp for Palestinian refugees and other parts of Dara’a province.
Credible reports indicated that the Assad regime and Russia air forces as well as the Iranian-backed militias bombed most of the liberated neighborhoods in the city of Dara’a. Over 50 barrel bombs and dozens of missiles and improvised rockets hit the city.
The Syrian Coalition condemns the brutal escalating campaign on Dara’a province as it stresses that these ongoing attacks constitute a blatant violation of the “de-escalation zones” agreement. It is imperative that guarantors of the agreement shoulder their responsibilities towards these violations and ensure the violations are stopped immediately.
The Coalition warns of the dire consequences of the ongoing campaign on Dara’a province, which has so far claimed the lives of scores of women and children, with regime forces setting fire to wide areas of farmlands.
