The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) extends its sincere wishes and congratulations to our people and to our Arab and Islamic nation on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha. In these blessed days, we remember our fallen heroes, praying for Allah to grant them mercy, forgiveness and acceptance.
Eid Al-Adha comes while tens of thousands of Syrians and its heroes are imprisoned in the prisons of the criminal Assad regime. It comes while the wounds of our people are still bleeding; and while our people are still being subjected to barbaric bombardments by the criminal regime, Russia and Iran. It comes while all the roads and paths seem to have reached dead ends due to the lukewarm and irresponsible international positions.
However, the Syrian people insist on continuing down the road, the only path possible, the path of steadfastness resilience, the path of the revolutionaries who refuse to surrender despite being subjected to the most heinous crimes.
At the beginning of this new SOC’s presidential term, and while we observe this blessed Eid, we renew our commitment to the goals of the Syrian Revolution and the just demands of our people for freedom, dignity and democracy. We stress the responsibilities of the international community with regards to protecting civilians. We call upon our brothers and friends to stand by the Syrian people and extend a helping hand to them until they fulfill their aspirations for a better future for themselves and for their children.
We congratulate all segments of the Syrian people on Eid al-Adha, as we look forward to their efforts and their contribution to the social, humanitarian, revolutionary and political work. We emphasize the importance of cohesion and cooperation, wishing a speedy and dignified end to this painful chapter in Syria’s history, with the fall of the criminal and corruption regime, the freeing of all detainees and the return of the missing, displaced and refugees. We wish that by the upcoming Eid, all the hopes of the Syrian people for salvation from occupation and tyranny and the establishment of a state of freedom and justice will be fulfilled.
May our wounded recover, our detainees be free, and our fallen heroes rest in peace.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
