Education:
- Al-Hakim completed his university studies in France in the field of computer science and microelectronics. He holds three doctorate degrees in this specialty, including one in the research management. He worked as a professor at French universities.
Professional career:
- Al-Hakim works in France’s Le Circuit Electrique as a director and general technical coordinator. He designed a number of inventions, one of which is now being used in NASA’s spacecraft.
Political and revolutionary action:
- Al-Hakim joined the Islamic political movement in Syria in his youth. He had to leave Syria in 1976 for fear of the Assad regime’s reprisal to his dissident activity.
- Al-Hakim is a co-founder of the Syrian National Council and the SOC. He was elected a member of the SOC’s political committee and also served as the head of the SOC’s foreign mission in Turkey.
