At least 10 civilians were killed and dozens more were injured in air strikes by the Assad regime and Russian air forces on the ISIS-held towns of Mayadeen and Almohasan and the village of Al-Bolil in eastern rural Deir Ezzor on Sunday.
Activist Mohammed Khader told Smart News Network that airstrikes believed to be conducted by the Assad regime and Russian warplanes hit the village of Al-Bolil, killing eight civilians and wounding many others.
Khader added that two more civilians were killed in similar attacks on the towns of Mayadeen and Almohasan.
Khader pointed out that residents of the town rushed the injured in the village of Al-Bolil to private clinics in the towns of Mayadeen and Ashara, pointing out that the ISIS extremist group care only for its militants and refuses to help civilians injured in the airstrikes.
Activists in Deir Ezzor said that airstrikes by the Assad regime, Russia, and the international anti-ISIS coalition are causing civilian casualties on a daily basis. On Friday, nearly 100 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in airstrikes on rural Deir Ezzor.
In a press release issued on Friday, the Coalition reiterated its condemnation of all attacks targeting Syrian civilians. “Those responsible for such violations along with the international community should remain aware that such attacks constitute war crimes and violate international law. Keeping silent towards such crimes is unacceptable and shameful and is the main reason behind their continuation.” (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
