The Syrian Network for Human Rights said it had documented 2,378 people killed in Syria during Ramadan, including 1,440 people who were killed by regime forces. According to the network, 234 children were among the dead, with an average of nine children per day. In addition, at least 142 people died under torture in Assad’s secret prisons. The report stated that children and women account for 25% of the number of civilian casualties, an indicator of the regime forces’ deliberate targeting of civilians. Moreover, the report documented 433 fighters killed during bombing or clashes, while 62 civilians, including 13 children, eight women and a media activist were killed by ISIS.
