As the aggression by Haiy’at Tahrir Alsham (HTS) on the town of Muaaret Alnouman in rural Idlib continues to cause public outrage, hundreds of people gathered in front of the Grand Mosque in the town on Sunday to protest. The demonstration was held under the theme “The People are Stronger than You!”
Demonstrators demanded that HTS militants withdraw from the town and end all armed presence inside the town. They held flags of the revolution and placards with slogans denouncing the practices of HTS militants in the town.
Demonstrators included women and people who came from the nearby villages of Haas and Kfarrouma, while a HTS checkpoint near the village of Zaa’lana prevented dozens of people from joining the demonstration.
The demonstrations came in response to HTS attacks on headquarters of the FSA Division 13 in the town of Muaaret Alnouman last week. Three civilians and Lieutenant Colonel Taysir Simahi, Deputy Head of the Free Police Force in the town were killed in the attack. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
