Assad Regime & Russian Airstrikes Destroy 15 Hospitals & Health Centers in Idlib Province

Local activists said that the towns and villages in rural Idlib have been left without operational health centers and hospitals as a result of the ongoing bombing campaign by the Assad regime and Russian air forces.

Idlib News Network on Tuesday published figures detailing the number of hospitals and health centers which were knocked out by the Assad regime and Russian airstrikes in the period between January 15 and February 5.

According to the Network, there are now no operational hospitals to receive the wounded and sick. Some towns are completely void any health centers.

The Network said the Assad regime and Russian airstrikes targeted at least 15 hospitals in rural Idlib in the period between January 15 and February 5, including six in the town of Saraqib alone.

The United Nations earlier said that it recorded 112 attacks on health facilities in Syria in 2017 and 13 others in January 2018.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) on Monday said that Russian forces targeted at least 20 medical and civil defense centers in January, including eight medical facilities, five ambulances, and seven civil defense centers. Assad regime forces bombed 16 centers, including eight medical centers, two ambulances, and six civil defense centers. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
