Girl Killed & her Mother Injured in Weaponized Drone Attack by Assad Regime on Latamina North of Hama
A girl was killed and her mother was injured in aerial bombardment by the Assad regime forces on the town of Latamina in northern rural Hama on Friday. The incident marked yet further escalation by the Assad regime as the attack involved the use of a weaponized drone that dropped a bomb on a residential area in the town.
Local activists said that the 14-year-old girl died of wounds she suffered after shrapnel penetrated her back and reached her heart.
In addition to the aerial bombardment, the town was hit by rocket and artillery fire from the Assad regime forces stationed in the nearby villages of Zillin, Masasina and Halfaya.
The Hama Observatory of the Syrian Civil Defense said that a reconnaissance aircraft was seen flying over the town of Latamina few hours before the attack.
The Assad regime forces have recently stepped up the use of weaponized drones to attack rebel positions in the northern rural Hama.
On Thursday, an Assad regime’s weaponized drone bombed one of the positions held by the National Front rebel group in western rural Hama, injuring three rebel fighters. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
