The Emergency Response Coordinators Team in Syria said that it had documented no fewer than 117 violations of the ceasefire by the Assad regime and Russian forces in northwestern Syria during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a report released on Friday, the Team pointed out that the Assad regime and Russian forces committed 79 violations in Idlib province, 22 in Hama province, nine in Latakia province, and seven in Aleppo province.
The Team indicated that around 1,041,233 displaced people have returned to their villages and towns in Aleppo and Idlib provinces since the start of the ceasefire, while 277,305 people have returned to the areas from which they were displaced.
The Team pointed out that the Assad regime forces continue to target the liberated areas on almost daily basis in violation of the ceasefire which was announced on March 5, 2020. These forces are deliberately targeting residential areas and neighborhoods in rural Idlib to prevent the civilian population from returning to their homes. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
