People of Manbij Asserting their right to Return to their Homes
People of the town of Manbij in northeastern rural Aleppo who were displaced from their homes called for the withdrawal of the militia of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) from the town as they asserted their right to return to their areas of origin.
At a conference held by political and civic activities in the town of Jarablus in rural Aleppo, head of the Committee for Re-stabilization Munther Sallal told Baladi News Network that the purpose of the conference is to draw the attention of the international community to the suffering of the people of Manbij and to emphasize their right to return to their town.
Sallal stressed the unity of the people of the town which was home to Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen and Circassians who want stability. He appealed to the governments of Turkey and the United States to "help people of Manbij return to their homes and villages and force the PYD militia out." He pointed out that the people of Manbij have made the most immense sacrifices to fight terrorism.
The conference coincided with talks between the Turkish and US presidents in a telephone conversation on Thursday that focused on developments in Syria, the situation in and around Manbij and Idlib province following the start of the first joint patrols in Manbij.
